When I was in the midst of chaos, struggling to find meaning and make sense of my journey, it was my connection with my first therapist that helped ground me.

Therapy is a space where you don’t have to hold everything alone anymore. Many of my clients come to me because they’ve spent years being strong for everyone else, often at the cost of their own needs, voice, and sense of self.

Whether you’re healing from past emotional wounds, navigating the aftermath of harmful relationships, or trying to reconnect with the parts of you that went quiet in order to stay safe, therapy can offer a soft landing and a clear path forward.

My work is warm, relational, trauma-informed, and rooted in deep respect for your lived experience. I believe healing happens through connection, through being truly seen, heard, and understood.

In our work together, we slow down enough to notice what’s happening inside you, explore the patterns that no longer serve you, and gently strengthen the parts of you that are ready to take up space again.

You don’t have to walk this journey alone. I’m here with you, steady, present, and committed to your healing.

My Specialties

Because of the intersection of my personal and professional journey, I tend to connect most deeply with women and LBGTQ+ adults navigating the following experiences:

I work best with clients who are open to exploring their inner world and engaging in meaningful, collaborative work, and not those looking for quick fixes or step-by-step formulas. Healing takes time, compassion, and connection, and we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you.

My Approach to Therapy

I draw from several therapeutic perspectives, and I tailor my approach to what will best support your healing. Here are some of the lenses I bring into our work together:

Therapy & Me

My first counselor was a compassionate presence who gave me the space to crumble in front of another who did not judge but was always willing to lend a helping hand. This experience allowed me to connect with my own strength and to discover my vocation:
I wanted to be that comforting presence for people in distress, for those who are undergoing changes that feel like the end of everything they currently know.

As an immigrant woman, I saw therapy as the shelter where I could start to feel at home, no matter how uniquely challenging my story felt through the years. The compassionate ears who listened to me, the tender eyes that were always cheering me on, despite my tears, were a source of joy and encouragement to continue to navigate uncharted waters while holding on to the most powerful resource we all have at our disposal: Ourselves.

I founded my practice, Nancy Juscamaita Psychotherapy, in order to offer that cozy, safe space for self-reflection to you. I would love to help you strengthen your connection with yourself, which you have always had: That bond you can always go back to in order to figure out your next step. I am excited to join you in this exhilarating journey.
